Lisa Lefkowitz approaches every image she photographs with a photojournalistic intent: to document true moments and real relationships, rather than to stage them.

While her studio is a great place to review portfolios and browse custom frames, albums and folios, all of Lisa's portrait work is done on location at her clients' homes or outdoors in San Francisco. Lisa uses entirely natural light to photograph her subjects, a defining quality of her images. Portrait sessions can be done in black & white and color, and rates start at $425.
Lisa's fine art portrait work is in the permanent collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art Artists Gallery, and has been exhibited in museums and galleries across the country. Her portraits have been published in Rolling Stone Magazine, among others.
Lisa comes to portrait and wedding photography from a fine art background. As such, she uses traditional, fine art materials: she shoots real black and white film. She uses 35mm and medium format film cameras - no digital. She offers prints on museum-quality fiber paper. Her portrait and wedding albums, and even her proof albums are beautiful silk and leather bound books, made by local bookbinders, and hand-embossed the old-fashioned way.
Lisa's wedding photography has appeared in Martha Stewart, Elegant Bride, The Knot, Wedding Bells and Modern Bride Magazines, as well as in the books The Knot Guide to Real Weddings and Chronicle Books' You Can Wear It Again: A Celebration of Bridesmaids Fashion. Lisa was recently featured in San Francisco's 7x7 Magazine's 2005 wedding issue as their sole choice for "Classic Wedding Photographer".
