I Preferiti di Boriana—translated as Boriana’s favorites—offers a taste of Tuscany in the heart of San Francisco. Owner Boriana S. Dimonte spent childhood summers in the countryside of Bulgaria with her grandmother. As an adult, she worked for many years in a prominent wine cellar in the town of Montepulciano in southern Tuscany. She now imports specialties from this beloved area—wild fruit marmalades, hand-made pastas, cakes and cookies, wines, olive oil from hand-picked olives produced by a local cooperative, and several sheep’s milk cheeses made by the Silvana family. The cheeses are sold at Cowgirl Creamery’s Artisan Cheese shop.
