Gathering Tribes celebrates the art of Indigenous America: North, Central and South. You will find original works of art, jewelry and fine crafts made by Native American artisans. Award winning actor, artist and jeweler, Michael Horse, is the artist in residence and you will find him on many Sundays working on one of his paintings at the gallery. Many people recognize him from the many feature length movies and television series he has worked on including, "Twin Peaks".
Paintings, fetish carvings, sculpture, textiles, jewelry, drums, flutes and rattles are such a few of the items found at Gathering Tribes. Many of the artists featured have won awards at some of the most prestigious Native American shows in the world including the SWAI Indian Market in Santa Fe, the Heard Museum show in Phoenix, and the Eiteljorg Museum show in Indianapolis.
Visitors are pleasantly surprised to find some of these award winning artisans at the gallery during weekend events throughout the year. The artisans come from as far north as Alaska, as far south as Costa Rica, and all over the United States.
Gathering Tribes is a Native American woman owned gallery. |
