Caffé Trieste is the first espresso coffee house established on the West Coast (1956). It has become famous across the world for its combination of essences: Old Italy, Bohemian poets, art and music, and excellent Espresso.
They are, thus, the Espresso Pioneers of the West Coast. The caffe has served as a movie set for many feature films and has been the subject of many documentaries across the globe. The walls are adorned with pictures of many famous celebrities who have visited the caffe (some are regular customers) as well as of the hundreds of musical events the various members of the Giotta family have participated in.
The menu includes Italian pastries, muffins, bagels, sandwiches, salads, light fare, pizza and focaccia, all served in a family atmosphere. Wine and beer are served. The Giotta Family's famous Saturday afternoon concert takes place each week. Their Caffe serves over 300,000 cups of coffee per year.
Coffee beans, brewers, accessories and Trieste merchandise are also available in the retail store ("Annex") located adjacent to the North Beach Caffe location.
